Leanne Marie Clark

Leanne M. Clark 1942 - 2021 Leanne Marie Clark, 79, of American Canyon, formerly of San Pablo, passed away peacefully at home Dec. 17, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Leanne was born Nov. 15, 1942 in Great Falls, Montana the daughter of the late Obert and Lola Lewis Sonsteng. For more than twenty five years she worked as a cashier for Thrifty Drug Stores (later Rite Aid) first at the store in Vallejo and later in Corte Madera. Leanne successfully sold Avon for the same 25 years earning several sales awards and many long-time friends. Loving wife to Robert Thomas Clark, devoted mother to their daughters Patricia and Wendy and Robert’s children Sterling and Korie. Revered as an avid baker, Leanne was always the one to prepare the birthday cakes for family and she’d bake your favorite, always! She made the best pumpkin pies, pecan bars, and lemon meringue pie. She made baked goods for everybody—cupcakes and chocolate chip cookies, with and without walnuts—whatever you liked. When her family could take no more, she began delivering to friends and neighbors. Leanne had a sweet and giving heart, one who always had a dollar for any person on the street. She would be known to run out of bills and go into a store to get change in order that she had something to offer in hand. Never did she display judgement on what the use might be—“It was only that they were in need” she would say. Leanne’s only vice was daily visits to Starbuck’s and all the local baristas knew her by name. Her order: “Grande, Non-Fat, No Foam, Latte.” Leanne was preceded in death by her parents and husband Robert. She is survived by two daughters: Patricia Ann Slate and Wendy Linn Lopez, and husband John; Robert’s children: Sterling Depriest and Korie McKenzie; brother, Obert Sonsten, Jr.; and twelve grandchildren. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Leanne’s Life at 1:00 pm Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel, 2383 Napa-Vallejo Highway, Napa. Private committal will be a later date at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, Richmond. Leanne was generous with so many organizations but her two favorite were St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital and the Disabled American Veterans. The family would be pleased if contributions were made in her memory to either.
