Yolanda Vasquez

On Thursday, June 2, 2022, Yolanda Vasquez loving wife, caring mother, loyal daughter, true friend and devoted Christian who inspired all who knew her passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side. Yolanda was born April 20, 1963 to Encarnacion and Lupe Mendez. In St Helena, Ca. She was welcomed by three older siblings, Ruben, Rick and Irene. Yolanda graduated from St Helena High School in 1982 and also received her degree in Cosmetology within the same year. Soon after she began attending New Life Tabernacle church in Napa, Ca where she met Frank Vasquez. They fell in love and married August 1, 1987. Frank and Yolanda purchased their first home and moved to Stockton,California where they welcomed the birth of their first daughter Stephanie followed by Marissa. They then moved back to Napa where Serena and Andrew were born into the family. They decided to purchase their next home in American Canyon where they stayed and raised their family. Family Worship Center in American Canyon under the direction of Reverend Lawrence Exum became their home church. Yolanda loved to garden. She had many plants and flowers that she took great care of. Her patio and backyard is covered with her handiwork. An oasis that the family loves to admire. Yolanda also loved to create beautiful wreaths that she would give as gifts as well as sell as a hobby. She loved her little chihuahua who her children named Chihiro. Yolanda was a woman of great faith. She was an amazing example to her children and to all who knew her. She loved to encourage others by posting scriptures and also declaring the goodness of God even while battling medical setbacks. She always saw the good in others and in any situation she found herself in. Her eyes were always focused truly on her Saviour Jesus Christ. This passage in Proverbs 31 says what we know in our hearts to be true of Yolanda. Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. 11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her: 29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. 31 Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise. Friends are invited to a service to celebrate Yolanda’s life 11:00 am Friday, June 10, at New Life Napa, 2625 First St. in Napa, where Rev. Lawrence Exum will officiate. Committal will follow in Tulocay Cemetery in Napa. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel, 2383 Napa-Vallejo Highway in Napa.
