Napa resident Dale Norman Hoemke died February 2, 2013 at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo. He was born May 9, 1929 to Carl & Mildred LaSage Hoemke in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. During the Korean Conflict he served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant upon his discharge in 1954. After receiving his degree in business administration from Marquette University, he entered the fields of Insurance and Reinsurance, where he spent a career of over 40 years prior to retirement as a Senior Vice President. He was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Fraternity and in Napa had been active in St. John's Lutheran Church & School, the Napa Yacht Club and took quiet pride in having served on the Napa County Grand Jury. He enjoyed reading, golfing and traveling. Dale is survived by his wife Marie of Napa, brother-in-law Paul Yela of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Franklin Yela, brother-in-law of Vancouver, Washington, daughter Bethann Corso of Ridgefield, Connecticut, daughter Paula Hernandez (Felix) of Fairfield, California, son Jesse Madahar (Cindi) of Corinth, Mississippi, son Rob Madahar (Megan) of Concord, California, nephew Jack Hoemke of Brookfield, Wisconsin, nephew James Hoemke of Madison, Wisconsin, niece Debra Hailey of Apollo Beach, Florida, nephew Dennis Harrison of Sun City, Florida, Ramona Bissett (widow of C. Jack Hoemke, Brother deceased) of San Antonio, Texas, nephew William Liegois of Muscatine, Iowa, niece Pamela Fugate of Del Ray Beach, Florida, niece Mary Beth Bergstrom of Newark, Delaware, grandchildren Isabella Corso, Briana Corso, Clint Corso, Kevin Hernandez, Kaleb Hernandez, Kaitlyn Hernandez, Alexandra Madahar, Nathaniel Madahar, Bradley Madahar and Quintin Madahar. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Liegois and Jean Wendorf. Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Monday, February 11th at 10:30 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3521 Linda Vista Avenue in Napa. Interment with military honors will follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon. Visitation will be at Treadway & Wigger on Sunday between the hours of 3:00 & 5:00 P.M.
