Harvey Theodore Winter Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harvey Theodore Winter went home to be with Christ on March 17, 2013 at the age of 83. He was born on October 17, 1929 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He was the grandson of Herman and Augusta Winter who emigrated to America from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany in 1891 He was the son of Emil and Martha Winter and the youngest of five children He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Doris Klatt, Lawrence Winter, Marvin Winter, and Viola Hoffman. He is survived by his daughter Sheila Brewer (Dennis), West Jordan, Utah; daughter Sherry Holst (Randy), South Lake Tahoe, California; son, Larry Winter (Sheri), Loomis, California; daughter Sheryl Winter, Roseville, California; son Gary Winter, Citrus Heights, California; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Harvey, as a youngster loved to play tennis and was a very good player. His favorite NFL team was the Green Bay Packers and he was a big fan of the Unverstiy of Wisconsin Badgers. Harvey worked for a short time at the Monarch Stove company in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. He served as a trainer in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged. Harvey later became a union member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Guy F. Atkinson construction company and Bechtel construction. He was a versatile employee, working on several large construction projects throughout California. In the mid 1980's he moved to the Veteran's Home in Yountville, California and resided there for just over 25 years. Harvey will be laid to rest in the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road #W, Gustine, California 95322-9749. Phone 209 854-1040
