A native of Oklahoma, Helen was born January 9, 1939 the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Jennings. The couple lived on Juarez Street where Helen enjoyed cooking for her family and at any time could be pleased by setting the television on a cooking channel! She was known for her special chocolate Bundt cake and was especially fond of prime rib from Texas Roadhouse, cooked salmon or a well constructed burger. Helen and Dawayne loved sprint car racing at the Petaluma Speedway. Helen’s dream was to get to see the 24B race again, meanwhile she liked watching the races on her iPad—her favorite was World of Outlaw Driver Brad Sweet. She had lots of friends on Facebook and had to speak to them daily. Helen was preceded in death by her first husband Max, her loving daughter Sherry, and her life partner Dawayne. She is survived by her son Brett Lay and his wife Sherry of Vallejo; and a host of adoring grandchildren: Sherry’s sons Gregory and Ricky; Brett’s daughter Jennifer and her children Larry, Kylie, and Analicia; Brett’s son Robert and his daughter Karma.
