John Henry Kohr

John Henry Kohr, a decorated Veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam era died March 26, 2014 in Napa. A native of Cherry, Illinois born December 10, 1924, he enlisted in the Navy in World War II and years later joined the U.S. Air Force where he pursued a career as a logistics coordinator. Upon retirement from the Air Force he worked from 1967 to 1982 at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. An enthusiastic sports fan, he also enjoyed golfing and fishing. Survivors include son Terry and daughter Karen Kohr-Blinn, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death on March 18th by his wife of 62 years, the former Wanda Wilson. Donations in memory of Mr. & Mrs. Kohr to Meals on Wheels are encouraged. Service: Private Services Napa, CA
