Angelina Aguilar Carrillo

Angelina Aguilar Carrillo (Malina), passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at the very young age of 94. She went to the arms of Our Heavenly Father peacefully surrounded by loving family. Our mom was known for all the love and devotion she showed to her 11 children, 47 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, ranging in ages from 4 months to 80 years old. She was predeceased by her husband, Rafael Carrillo, and 6 of their children. Malina came to the Napa Valley about 56 years ago. She started as a housekeeper for the Pepper Family, and then worked for the Christian Brothers Camp in Calistoga as a fulltime cook. She then started working at the Oakville Grange, doing what she enjoyed bestcooking. If any of you were lucky enough to share her bounty, whether it was freshly made flour tortillas, her tamales that were to die for, or her simply buttered toast with a little sugar, consider yourself blessed. She also worked for many years in the vineyards, so that many of us could enjoy the fruits of her laborthe famous Napa Valley wines. She became disabled after hurting her knee while working for Vinifera Wine Industries. She then stayed home watching over many of her grandchildren and other children as well. Our mom also loved to travel, and she went on numerous vacations with different family members. On her last trip to Mexico she visited Cofrada de Duendes, Cofrada de Juarez, and Colima in the states of Jalisco and Colima. She also traveled to Guadalajara, Jalisco various times. Shes also visited many places around the country like Disneyland, Las Vegas, Nevada, Tucson, and Yuma, Arizona. Sometimes a Sunday drive with our would turn into an adventure. One of those times we went hiking in Jack London State Park in Sonoma. And as if that was not enough, after our hike we got into the van and drove to the California Redwoods. Eventually we found our way to see one of her sons, Saul, in the Redway-Garberville area. What exciting times we all had with our Malina. On behalf of Angelinas family, we would like to give a very Special Thanks to all the nurses on the second floor of the Queen of the Valley Hospital for the precious hands and hearts that went out of their way to care for our mother. We would also like to give a Great Big Thanks to all the workers at the Meadows of Napa Valley who watched over our mother for many months. And, a very Heartfelt Thanks to our moms roommate at the Meadows, who would often try to interpret what my moms needs and wants were, even though she did not speak SpanishDorothy, an Angel sent by God to help our Mom. Who could say goodbye to an Angel like Malina? We can only say so long Mm, hasta luego, Malina, til we see each other again. Ella fue a los brazos de Nuestro Padre celestial rodeado pacficamente por su amorosa familia. Nuestra madre era conocida por todo el amor y la devocin que le mostr a sus 11 hijos, 47 nietos, 84 bisnietos y 5 tataranietos, que van desde los 4 meses hasta los 80 aos de edad. Ella fue prefallecida por su esposo, Rafael Carrillo, y 6 de sus hijos. Malina vino al Valle de Napa hace unos 56 aos. Comenz como trabajadora domestica para la familia Pepper, y luego trabaj para el campamento de Christian Brothers en Calistoga como cocinera de tiempo complete. Despues a trabajando en la Grange de Oakville, haciendo lo que ella goz mejor- cocinando. Si alguno de ustedes tuvo la suerte de compartir su generosidad, ya sea probando sus tortillas de harina recin hechas, de sus tamales que morias por probar, o simplemente de su pan dorado con mantequilla con un poco de azcar, considrese bendecido. En su ltimo viaje a Mxico visit Cofrada de Duendes, Cofrada de Jurez y Colima en los estados de Jalisco y Colima. Tambin viaj a Guadalajara, Jalisco varias veces. Ella visit muchos lugares alrededor del pas como Disneyland, Las Vegas, Nevada, Tucson y Yuma, Arizona. A veces un domingo en coche con nosotros se convertira en una aventura. Una de esas veces fuimos a hacer senderismo en Jack London State Park en Sonoma. Y como si eso no fuera suficiente, despus de nuestra caminata subimos a la camioneta y fuimos a las Secoyas de California. Eventualmente encontramos la manera de ver a uno de sus hijos, Saul, en la zona de Redway-Garberville. Qu momentos emocionantes todos tuvimos con nuestra Malina. En nombre de la familia de Angelina, nos gustara dar un agradecimiento muy especial a todas las enfermeras en el segundo piso del Hospital Queen of the Valley, por las preciosas manos y corazones que hicieron todo lo posible por cuidar de nuestra madre. Tambin quisiramos dar un gran agradecimiento a todos los trabajadores de Meadows del Valle de Napa que cuidaron a nuestra madre durante muchos meses.
